Just 3km from the Route des Crêtes, the Uff Rain farmhouse inn is located close to the Platzerwasel pass, on the connecting road to the Munster valley. The panorama encompasses all the Vosges ridges from the Hohneck to the Spitzköpfe.

Michel acquired the farmhouse in 2011. A complete renovation of the inn was carried out in 2019, focusing on wood: framework, cladding and interior decoration.

La chaume Uff Rain comprises 46 hectares of moorland and high-altitude meadows, 12 ha of which are mown. Part of the area is covered by an Arnica preservation and harvesting agreement. The herd comprises 25 dairy cows of the Vosges and Brown breeds and 12 suckling mothers of the Aubrac breed, a real favorite of Michel?s, plus heifers and calves. The milk is transformed into Munster, Bargkass and tomes cheeses. Meat is sold direct or processed into charcuterie from the 70 pigs reared at the winter farm in Hohrod.

In addition to the market meal and farm-fresh meat dishes such as pot-au-feu and fleischschnakas, Uff Rain is famous for its calf?s head with roïgebrageldis.
