Booking Conditions

These booking conditions apply to direct bookings (via bb-grand-ballon.com, email/phone) unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of booking. When booking through a platform (OTA), platform conditions may also apply.

1) Definitions

  • Accommodation: B&B Au pied du Grand Ballon located at 15 Hameau Blanschen, 68760 Goldbach-Altenbach (France).

  • Guest: the booker and all accompanying travelers.

  • Booking: a reservation request that has been confirmed by us in writing.

2) Conclusion of the agreement

  1. You make a request (form/email/phone).

  2. We confirm availability and price.

  3. The booking is final after written confirmation from us and (if applicable) receipt of deposit.

3) Prices and Inclusions

  • Unless stated otherwise, prices are per room per night and include breakfast.

  • Any extras (e.g., additional person, late check-in, packages) will be communicated in advance.

4) Tourist tax (taxe de séjour)

Goldbach-Altenbach is part of the Communauté de communes de la Vallée de Saint-Amarin (CCVSA). It is not the municipality but the CCVSA that has established the taxe de séjour and determines the rates. The regime is “au réel”: you collect per person and per night. The Collectivité européenne d’Alsace (CEA) adds a surcharge of 10%. We collect the taxe de séjour on behalf of this entity(ies) upon departure; this is not included in the settlement at the time of booking (as previously communicated). The total rate amounts to EUR 0.88 per person per night. Exempt or exempted are minors (under 18 years) and holders of a seasonal work contract within the service area of the CCVSA or persons in a state of emergency housing (hébergement d’urgence).

5) Payment

The following payment conditions apply:

  • Deposit: 50% at the time of booking, via an online payment.

  • Final payment: no later than 14 days before arrival, via an online payment.

  • For bookings with arrival within 14 days: 100% immediately, via an online payment.

Payment must be made online using the payment options provided by our payment provider Mollie. Exceptions to the above are only possible after written consultation.

6) Cancellation by the guest

Standard cancellation policy for bookings:

  • Up to 14 days before arrival: free cancellation (deposit will be refunded minus any transaction fees).

  • 14 to 7 days before arrival: 50% of the total amount due.

  • Within 7 days before arrival or no-show: 100% of the total amount/booking is due.

  • Early departure: no refund, unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellations can only be made in writing (email/contact form), with the date/time of receipt as the leading factor.

7) Changes by the guest

Changes (dates, number of persons) are possible upon request based on availability. Any price differences or costs will be communicated in advance. A revised confirmation will follow, after which the modified booking becomes final.

8) Cancellation/Modification by the Accommodation

In case of force majeure or exceptional circumstances (e.g., serious damage, unsafe situation), we may cancel the booking. In that case, you will receive any amounts already paid back. We do not reimburse further damages/additional costs (e.g., travel or consequential damages) unless legally required.

9) Check-in / check-out

  • Check-in: 16:00–20:00

  • Check-out: by 11:00 at the latest

    Other times available by appointment only.

10) House Rules

  • Smoking: not allowed inside (only outside in designated area(s)).

  • Pets: only upon request.

  • Quiet: please respect the night rest and other guests.

  • Damage: any damage caused by guest(s) will be charged.

  • Maximum occupancy: as confirmed at booking (safety/comfort).

11) Liability

  • Stays are at your own risk. We are not liable for loss/theft/damage to guests’ property, except in cases of intent/gross negligence or where mandatory law provides otherwise.

  • We are not liable for disturbances due to circumstances beyond our control (weather, roadworks, disruptions by third parties).

12) Complaints

Report complaints as soon as possible during your stay so that we can resolve them. If you cannot find a solution, you can contact us in writing after your departure.

13) Privacy

Personal data you provide for the booking will be processed according to our privacy statement on bb-grand-ballon.com.

14) Applicable law and competent court

These terms and the agreement are governed by French law. Disputes are preferably resolved through consultation; if that fails, the competent court in this department shall apply, to the extent permitted.

15) No right of withdrawal for dated accommodation

For accommodation bookings with a specific date/period, there is generally an exception to the 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases in the EU. This means that the booking and the (down)payment are binding.
