Balade ferme-auberge Musmiss : Sur le chemin des marcairies

In 1997, Thierry and Florence transformed the old Musmiss marcairie into an inn and a stable was added in 2003. The Ebene marcairie is used as a place of estivation for the cows. They perpetuate a family heritage passed on for 3 generations. The farm has a hundred hectares of high altitude meadows and moors. About 35 ha are mowed for winter fodder, at the Geisberg and around the Ebene marsh. The pastures are composed of moors with a diversified flora, real mosaics of wetlands near the springs and dry areas where the invasive fern must be fought.
The herd is composed of 25 dairy cows and 40 heifers, of Montbéliarde and Simmenthal breeds. A part of the milk is transformed into Munster cheese
and Bargkass, the rest is delivered to the dairy. In addition to the marcaire meal, the specialities of the house are roast veal and beef from the farm
of the house. The daily vegetable soup is always appreciated by the walkers.
